Hello and welcome to our blog! We are so glad you stopped by to check us out.

Sisters by Design started with a simple idea of two sisters spending time together creating and designing new gift ideas. Homemade gifts for friends and family were their staple for years and it was at the urging of those same individuals that they decided to open the doors to their very own Etsy store. In 2014 the sisters took the plunge and began their business adventure. Three almost four years later they are thriving and enjoying life as two sisters who still love to design homemade customized gifts for the customers.

One of the best sellers is the “Peas in a Pod” necklaces and that really describes the two of them well.

Let me take a moment to give you some background on each of them.

Melinda is the older sister who has loved creating homemade gifts since she was very young is the foundation of the business. She is a wife, mother and teacher as she home schools her children. She is the modern day Super Woman who tries her best to balance her loves, life and business. The farm where she lives allows her to be surrounded by nature, breathe in the fresh air (sometimes stinky from the animals) and provides a beautiful background to many of the product photos she posts at the store.

Jessi is the baby sister who is the designer of many of the products in the store. Her interior design experience brings the customers dreams to life. Her family is her number one priority as she is bringing up three girls along with her husband. Life is busy between family and business, but she wouldn’t trade her life for anyone else’s in the world.

Customization is the key to their success. They love their customers and want to do everything possible to make your dreams come true. We want to share some of their favorite items with you.
