The holiday's are coming...

If you are stressing out you are not alone. So many of us become overwhelmed with all the commitments, hostess duties, church activities and purchases this time of year. If you are like me the signs around town or on social media counting down the days only increases the anxiety.

When my kids were younger I thought I had to do it all on my own. The cooking, cleaning, decorating and shopping. If I allowed help then I wasn't the Super Mom I thought my family and friends expected. Truth be told my family and friends could care less about my ill conceived notation of Super Mom status. All they wanted was to spend time together, laugh and eat. Mostly eat because that is just how our family shows love. They wanted to help and actually saw that I was stealing their blessing if I didn't allow it. I don't want to steal anyone's blessing especially at the holidays.

So now I accept help, share responsibilities and do my best to limit my commitments to the ones that are really meaningful so I can be present in the moment. No more Super Mom trying to make everyone happy on her own!
