Countdown to Mother's Day 2018....

"All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my Mother"
~ Abraham Lincoln

Being a Mom is the greatest job ever but also one of the toughest. For the first nine months you are so excited to meet this little creature that you helped create and are now bringing into the world. Then the baby arrives, begins to grow, develop and before you know they begin to talk. This is when the tough part begins...

"Welcome to the World"

Every child has their own personality and if your kids are anything like mine, they dismounted from my womb with a forceful sense of independence and self-worth. Every mother wants to raise a  child to become both strong and independent but it almost kills them to raise one that arrives
 preassembled in this fashion.

"Flexibility"

Through the years these mini versions of yourself love you, torment you and make you laugh harder than any other person in the world. The tears are both sadness, anger and joy. When they are younger all you want them to be is safe. If you could put them in bubble wrap it would be their new fall attire. Instead you put your number in their backpacks, on bracelets and as they get older inside their phone.

As they become teenagers you all of sudden are making your cut/color appointments at the beauty salon closer together than ever before but as my father-n-law says "It's only money". They say to find an individuals priorities look at their checkbook. Mine would definitely be for items for my kids.

The list is endless ~ band, cheer-leading, volleyball fees, musical lessons, the latest fashions, shoes ...don't even get me started on the shoes! In all the world there isn't anyone you want to make happy or squeal with joy than your kids when you finally buy the thing they have wanted for their entire life! Even if sometimes other characters get the credit - a.k.a Santa Claus & Easter Bunny.

Then the day comes where they graduate from high school and venture off to college. You would do everything possible to hold on just for five more minutes to the fingerprints on the wall, messy rooms, endless car rides to and from activities and maybe even to write the checks to support them.

Yet, they have come full circle to finally become the strong and independent young adults you prayed for them to be from the beginning. A friend more than a child and you start to look forward to all the new memories you can make with them including them moving out of your house, getting married and grandchildren!

It's a SPA party and I'll be pampered if I want to...

Keep Calm and enjoy a Spa day!

Whether it is your birthday, a girls night or even a divorce party the spa theme can be crafted for every occasion. I've done spa parties for teenagers where we purchased a bunch of fingernail polish, pedicure supplies, makeup and hairspray. Don't forget the music as no party is complete without this component. It may not be Spa music with teenagers but it's your party so you can bend the rules.

Oh I can't forget the food...we also had that too! Lots of it...I mean these were teenage girls with no boys around to impress! Pizza, cupcakes, cookies, and the spa water (mix ice water with slices of lemon or cucumbers). No spa party is complete without the fancy spa water.

For a more elegant spa party you could change the music to something soothing, upgrade your mani/pedi supplies and introduce finger foods. Don't forget the desserts as no girls party is complete without chocolate and maybe some wine!

Sisters by Design can help you along the way with planning your big day. Our store has options for cupcake stakes, centerpieces, labels for your food or spa stations. Our team can customize many of the traditional party supplies to match your level of sophistication.

Here are some examples from our collection:

I"m not sure this is true thanks to social media and digital cameras but I know it is a good time no matter the age. For the younger parties there is tons of shows, water parks and roller coasters. More mature parties know the party is on the strip, in the casino's and buffets! Vegas may be the name but Fun is the game.

Products are listed below for our collaboration with the Vegas cake designer as well as some other birthday supplies we can customize for your upcoming event.

National Employee Appreciation Day

National Employee Appreciation Day

"Always treat your employees exactly as you want them to treat your best customers"
~ Stephen R. Covey

Working both in the corporate world as well as an entrepreneur I have found the success to any business is through the employees. They are the backbone of companies large and small. Many of these individuals cheer on their corporations with such passion and commitment that they really aren't just employees any longer but cheerleaders rooting them on to victory over the competition.

Appreciating employees should be a daily action not an annual practice.

Many corporations utilize logo wear or logo products when providing gifts of appreciation to their staff. At the Papa John's Pizza team shop you can purchase logo items ranging from backpacks, shirts, jackets, totes, cups, and even sporting good items.
Remember your employees are your best sales people both in service and marketing your company!

Papa John's

Loyalty from employees is not dead for the companies who recognize and reward the effort and dedication given by their staff. Appreciation can be distributed in many different forms; thank you cards, emails, awards, financial incentives, and last but not least having lunch together.
Remember the small things matter the most.

Harp Design Co.

Thank you cards may seem as a blast from the past but people love them especially if they are hand written with a message that is sincere and meaningful. It doesn't have to be crafty like Hallmark only a simple thank you for the work they have done and what it means to you and the company.
Remember that employees want to know you their work is important.

Awards given to your employees can be very special and created with very little investment.
Customize  Glass Awards with your employee, company and achievement names.
Remember that bling and bragging rights go a long way in an office environment.

Don't forget to recognize the years of service from employees. When you have employees that stay with you through the good, bad and sometimes even the ugly don't forget to recognize the commitment. It doesn't have to be boring corporate plaques either as many companies now create new artistic forms to help highlight your incredible employees.

Paint Ball Birthday Party

Planning a Paint Ball Birthday Party?

If you don't know already "Paintball" is a competitive team shooting sport in which players eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with spherical dye-filled gelatin capsules that break upon impact.

What is better for a little boy than being able to shoot colored gel capsules at their friends while running around? What am I saying little boys? This sport has caught on with boys, men and even girls! The great thing about this sport is it is inclusive as long as you have the skill to avoid being hit!

Indoors, outdoors, with friends or on a league....this sport can be done about anywhere.

To throw a great paintball party here are some ideas for invitations, goody bags, and centerpieces. Sisters by Design can also create banners and thank you cards. Don't forget to reserve a place outdoors or at a venue to play the sport.

Avoid using your home as this can get messy!
